TechCrunch Crunchies

Since 2008, the TechCrunch Awards – known as the “Crunchies” – have recognized the very best in the worlds of start-ups and technology. 

As a leader in tech industry news, TechCrunch is well poised to bestow these unusual honors. For the 2017 Crunchies awards ceremony, there are eleven categories, which include: Hot New Startup, Best App, Hardware of the Year, Social Impact and Founder of the Year. 

The custom trophy created for the Crunchies has become a brand icon. The form is that of a human-like monkey standing triumphantly atop a pile of electronics. The trophy is surprisingly large and is particularly stunning in its gunmetal chrome plated finish.

The show has become a major event for the Silicon Valley, which sees far fewer awards programs of this caliber than Los Angeles or New York.
